Metroterkini.com - The 13th annual colloguium of the International Union for Conversation Of Nature ( IUCN ) has topic “Forest and Marine Biodiversity”. Indonesia as an archipelago state in collaboration with IUCN would like to contribute for Forest and Marine Biodiversity through research committee who address “forest value claims in the global economy” and develop a teaching – capacity building committee on “ Good Practices in Teaching and Learning Environmental Law”.

Jamie Benidicson as IUCN Secretariat believe with nearly fifty countries involvement, there would be plentyof new ideas to share abour important ongoing developments in environmental law, while Nilufer Oral ( Chair of IUCN Academy of Environmental law) address that IUCN Academy collquia continue scholars from around the globe who share their expertise and discuss some of our greatest environmental challenges and the outcome of this colloquium will provide important scholary research and guidance to fellow schollar as well as policy makers. 

Atma Jaya Chatolic University of Indonesia as the host of the event realize that academia should contribute to biodiversity issues and as one of catholic university in Indonesia, we realize the message of Laudato Si From the Pope is the real Task that academia should address to help the dying environment. “ We believe that we need immediate actions, immediate solution, and immediately break through to take care of our environmen today, “ Said Lanny Panjaitan as Rector of Atma jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. 

Yanti Fristikawati as Dean of Faculty of Law also state that the chosen topic should be addressed for forest and marine biodiversity because the importance of our forest and marine as life support of planet earth therefore we need to protect and manage our forests and marine by well.
The 13 IUCNAEL Colloquium consist of three pillars, the colloquium itself, research workshop and teaching workshop. With speaker from all over the world from various backgrounds, the event expecting to contribute to the development of environmental law. PhD student will share ideas and invite feedbacks from the audience on their ongoing research. This way, they will be able to sharpen their analysis in order answer their research questions.
